One of the firm’s leaders is Senior Partner, Adam J. Spiker, a third-generation family member to work in CA government relations, and a pioneer of the legal cannabis industry in the United States.
Over his 15 years of government relations experience, Mr. Spiker has worked with a number of municipalities, states, and federal government agencies to assist in the implementation of effective cannabis policies. Furthermore, Mr. Spiker understands the nuances of the cannabis license process, having successfully completed over 100 cannabis business licenses for his clients. Mr. Spiker is also the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Southern California Coalition, the largest cannabis trade organization in one of the world’s largest cannabis markets. As Executive Director, he helps Southern California Coalition members navigate the evolving complex regulatory issues facing the cannabis industry and aggressively works to implement fair cannabis policies, so all businesses are afforded an opportunity to enter the space.
Mr. Spiker has over 15 years of experience building meaningful relationships in the private and public sector as a licensed broker for a large investment banking firm where he provided advisory services to California municipalities, school districts, and water districts. Most recently, Mr. Spiker played a leading role in the passage of Proposition M, the world’s most comprehensive cannabis legislation regulatory framework, in Los Angeles, providing the city with mechanisms to fairly license, regulate, and tax cannabis, while also implementing a landmark cannabis social equity program that has become a model to cities throughout the United States.
